Pico Day 2024, what a great meet up. It was fucking awesome getting to hang with everyone again after so long. So many people came too, but even with so many people the atmosphere was still very relaxed and chill. It's so cool just seeing a room full of talented people drawing and talking about art and animation and video games.

I'm really struggling to find the correct words to describe what it felt like, because it is nothing like going to a convention. Since I can't word it well, I'll word it poorly; It's like being in a room full of your best friends that you haven't seen in forever. Even the people whom you've never met before; there is some invisible tether connected everyone. (see I told you I'd word it poorly)

Anyway, I thought I had taken more photos than I actually did, and on top of that, the few I took were all blurry too haha. But they are great all the same.

Me and @krinkels after 100 tries to take a clear photo... mission failed. We'll get 'em next time.

The First and Last User Of The Year. @luis is smiling because no one told him that, in fact, first is the worst.

Me and @ninjamuffin99 took a photo just so we can make fun of @foamymuffin for not showing up.

It's a real shame I didn't get a better picture of @mindchamber 's helmet, it was awesome! But a lot of people have been posting good pictures of it online.

Me and @twistedgrim. I was looking for him for a while, but had no clue what he looked like, and we didn't have name tags. Thankfully he recognized me.

@srpelo was busy drawing doodles for people every time I went to say hi to him. But I eventually said hi and got this picture.

@ninjamuffin99, @luis, and myself. I was extra blurry because luis kept making me laugh everytime I went to take the photo.

Me and Matt recreating our PicoDay 2019 photo. Krinkles is making such a funny face in this one, I might draw it someday.

In closing, it was a great night. 10/10 would not blam.

What a tremendous loss. It's hard to even quantify how much Toriyama influenced and shaped not only the art world, but culture as a whole.

I loved watching the anime, but I also own the menga too. I read the Buu saga every few years (I actually just re-read it last month).

Like many other artists, Akira Toriyama inspired me as a child and influenced a lot of my art. And I do believe Toriyama still influences me today. Sadly, I don't have many finished pieces featuring 'Dragon Ball', but my old sketch pads are littered with the stuff, or OCs that are just cheap DBZ knockoffs lol.

Here is an old sketch I made as a kid.iu_1172683_3847739.webp

If you have uploaded some Toriyama fan art to the portal, even if it was a while ago, drop a link to it below :)

I have been a fan of Hypnohustler for years, he uploaded the original Lakeview Cabin to Newgrounds 10 years ago (I actually drew fanart for it all the way back then). He just finished Lakeview 2 recently,

and I am glad I can share it with you guys.

Stephen Kick and is company Nightdrive Studio are truly doing god's work when it comes to preserving old video games. Besides System Shock 1 & 2, his company is responsible for porting and publishing classic video games like Doom 64, Blood, I have no mouth and must scream, harvester, D, Shadow Man, Noctropolis, Turok and so much more.

I just put up a new shirt preorder in my etsy shop.

YOU CAN CHECK IT OUT HERE

I've been doing well, still adjusting to not being an internet troll. As I mentioned I lost my Deathink twitter because of a false flag. Twitter is so shit it's been way over a month and still no word on my appeal. Honestly though, that places makes me go hollow, so it's been nice getting out of the loop.

I did however get a new account, and a new instagram (I lost my insta because of a bug the same week as my twitter lol). I only use them to post my art now, however, Newgroudns is by far the best place to see my finished work. Still, I'll drop the links below if you are interested in following 'em.

INSTAGRAM

TWITTER

Losing my twitted didn't even bother me, I kinda hate that place, or at least I hated that account (I do miss having the deathink handle, but at least one one else can get it). But thinking about rebuilding my insta kinda bums me out.

I'm going to start to lean more on my Patreon more.

It would just be nice to have a less public place where I can share stuff and talk with supporters. Not 100% sure what I will be doing there yet, but I have some ideas.

As far as work, I've been writing a real lot. I have some more bigger art pieces coming out soon. However, I can't stop thinking about making games... like I think about it constantly. I even mentioned something to a very talented programmer you all know. Who knows? Maybe after I finish this story. Would also be fun to make a small flash game.

Also, YO FNF got 9 million views? Rad af!

Anyway ttyl. Thank you for all your support. Lets go on many more strange adventures!

No time to explain:

I hate social media, always have. I especially hate twitter (always have).

Anyway, I have a new Twitter account YOU CAN FOLLOW IT HERE.

However, I am no longer going to participate in the baby games on that shit site.

I have a minds.com account too (user name: deathink), it's an okay place, but proboly because I don't interact with people on it lol.

I'm going to restrict and relegate my interactions only to Newgroudns and my Patreon from now on. I hate all other places, always have, not even that fond of Patreon, but there is potential for more direct support and interactions.

You can follow my patreon by clicking this link.

I want to explain everything in much better detail, but I don't want this post to be a million pages long,

so TLDR: I have never been happy on social media. I don't get a dopamine hit from interactions like other people do, and a bunch of notifications more often than not depresses me and makes me want to self sabotage.

I reject all these stupid games social media wants you to play. All this retardation they try to feed you.

I just want to make great things and share them with you, and when I do interact, I want to have real interactions not just the vapid BS most interactions are.

Thank you for all your support, I remain your humble servant; Deathink

Someone falsely claimed that I was posting violence and gore in my profile banner, it's just a picture of Hizzy wearing my shirt with fake blood on her.

Got both my twitter account banned.

Lost access to my instagram because of a bug.

Banned on reddit a few weeks back.

Abandoned my deviant art and tumblr so long ago I can remember.

lol

While working on Pico Radio, I was just about to complete it and my PC crashed. All my hard work, gone. Tom told me, "well, now you have an opportunity to make it better", and I did.

This is going to be a great year, I feel it in my bones.

The first page of my Fallout Comic is completed.

Right now it's only available through my Patreon, but I do plan on releasing it right here on Newgrounds eventually.

The line art is by my friend Dee, and I did everything else.

We are trying to keep this as traditional as possible to capture that golden age vibe.

I haven't fully decided on an upload scheduled as me and Dee are very busy, and this is a side thing right now, but I'm thinking one page a week for now. As I gather more support, I will increase it.

If you'd like to help support this project and get early access to pages, concept art, scripts as well as participate in discussions about the comics direction, please consider becoming a patreon.

https://www.patreon.com/Deathink

More info coming soon. I belive I will post this page here next Friday. Like, a little somethign nice to look farward to at the end of the week? IDK

What is Fallout Project?

The TLDR is that it’s a comic.

Right now I am working on Book 1, which is a painfully faithful adaptation of the Fallout 1 game. For those who have only played the later games, Fallout 1 is a much darker story. It’s more violent, sexual, and just all around more gritty and mature.

Book 1 consists of 6 chapters. Each chapter is about 4 parts long and each part is comprised of about 16 pages. Give or take a few dozen, the completed main story is going to be about 380 pages long.

Additionally, each part will have cover art, and each chapter will also have a self contained side story. The side story will feature the main characters, but not really follow the main story as they are based on side quests and random encounters. These side stories will vary greatly in lengths anywhere from 1 to about 10 pages long. (note, these will be more clearly defined later as right now I have been focusing mainly on the main story structure)

So all together the first book will be roughly 400+ pages long, and will take a while! About 2 years if I’m able to keep it going. If I can gather enough support and complete book 1, then I’ll start working on Book 2 which will be an adaptation of Fallout 2. And I’ll just keep going as long as I can get support. I NEED to make Book 2, but the more I think of it, Book 3 and New Vegas would be awesome too!

Who is working on it and why?Β

Right now it’s just me and I have hired a talented artist to draw for me, but, depending on how much support I can gather, I plan on hiring many more.

I am writing the comic, and creating layouts, doing clean up, lettering and color. I give my mocks to Dee and he gives me back some line work.

Here’s my plan.

Dee will be the main story line artist.

But for the side quests I plan to commission other, lesser known, but extremely talented artists.

And the covers will be a mix, sometimes me, sometimes Dee, sometimes other artists.

Dee will have first dibs on the main quest, but if he ever doesn’t want to do it anymore I’ll just pick up a new artist and keep moving forward. Although I hope he stays a while. It’s going to be so awesome watching him grow!

This is the best part of this project IMO. I know so many extremely talented, underrated artists. I really do love these peoples work, and would love to shine a spotlight on it. A collective of all these really original art styles. Anyway, back to the details.

Right now I have relaunched my patreon to help gather support, but there are lots of other ways you can support too.

I do plan to release the comic for free online, I never planned for it to be locked behind a paywall. It’s official home will be Newgroudns.

This project is going to cost a lot of time and money, so in conjunction with Patreon I will also be utilizing other means of monetization, such as:

-Merchandise (posters, shirts...)

-Crowd funding (kickstarter esque stuff)

What will be kickstarted?

I plan to have printed copies. I would like to have copies printed for each part, but it might end up being each chapter. I have been looking into it, but admittedly I haven’t finished deciding. However, this isn’t going to be β€œkickstart this and I’ll finish a part” it’s going to be β€œthe part is finished, kickstart if you want a copy”. I believe that is a very important distinction.

Okay, this post is long enough for now. Thank you to anyone who has read this far. I’ll have more details soon, but I wanted to kind of explain what this is all about. Check this art out Dee made btw.
