I feel the same exact way. I now detach myself from my social media self, treating it more like a business. Meanwhile, I allow myself to be a person on here.

I hate Twitter as well, i get annoyed and a headache seeing how echo chambered that site is. I hate the social media aspect of the internet really bad, everything looks like someone's trying to pander or it feels like a social climbing ladder, someone trying to get brownie points/Twitter clout or whatever you call it nowadays. Someone repeating the same meme or whatever is trending 24/7 so they can get a thumbs up like a buzz word. The fun the joy of creating, it's like it's empty. Where the aspect or today's standard is if you're a certain someone they have to look through their list of memes of labels, like a massive file cabinet. Oh ya, your a!!...... (Looks through file cabinet*) boomer!!!! Haha aaa i got em guys im super cool!!! Yaaaay...i copied.

I feel like in a cynical way it's ruined art in a certain aspect, like to me it feels like it dehumanizes the artist behind it and no one cares and steals the art, just all of it made me want to leave the internet all together. Also another thing I hate is how there's so many little kids on Twitter and YouTube 24/7, where the hell are the parents... Your son's talking to a 30-year-old man Stacey.....

I really just made an art account online just to make art friends, and then we would like make something really cool together lol. But to me the joy just kind of got sucked out and I feel old.

I don't know if that makes sense. Also on a side note I'm not saying memes are bad, it just feels like a social climbing ladder all together. Just literally everything to me.

I also stopped bothering with social media except to post/promote artwork for the most part. I'd be more inclined to get rid of them entirely if they weren't necessary for promotion, especially these days with lockdowns/restrictions/etc.
